Another dark cloud is hanging over Nimba County University as retirement Plot against 26 employees received mixed reactions.

Barely a week, after the Civil Service Agency of Liberia (CSA) released plans to retire eligible employees at Government spending entities, the President of Nimba University Dr. Jesse Noah Mongrue has mandated the Human Resource Manager Assistant Professor Thomas B. Massaquoi to submit names of eligible employees for possible retirement at the institution.

The Human Resource Manager of the University Assistant Professor Thomas Massaquoi has notified about 26 employees at the University for possible retirement by the Civil Service Agency on July 31,2024.

Some of those who received the retirement notice include Associate Professor Peter N. Ben Sr., Vice president for Administration, Edwin F. Kruah, Vice president for Institutional Advancement, Solomon L. Quetee, Assistant Vice president for Information Technology, George F. Weanquoi and George Duo, Dean of the College of Health Sciences.

Others are Joseph P. Gehygon, Director of T-VET, Peter Gonwor, Principal of Early Childhood Daycare and O. D. K. Zakamah, Dean of the College of Education and Social Sciences.

A source has further revealed that those employees in question have not reached the maximum age of retirement as enshrined in the Civil Service Manual of 2012.

It further disclosed that the University’s President Dr. Jesse Noah Mongrue’s decision is a calculated plan to target those who have been critical of his Administration.
