Liberia’s Government and International Partners Conclude Consultations for County Development Agenda in Lofa County.

The Government of Liberia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and with support from the United Nations and the Government of Sweden, has successfully concluded the “District and County Consultations for the Development of the County Development Agenda and the Arrest Agenda for Inclusive Development” in Zorzor and Salayea Administrative Districts in Lofa County.

The consultations brought together over forty participants from various sectors, including local elders, women, youth, people with disabilities, and the media.

Key issues highlighted by the citizens during the activities included the improvement of roads, health services, agriculture, sanitation, and education.

Mr. Paul Kalama, representing Zorzor Administrative District, expressed gratitude to the government and its partners for involving citizens in developmental decision-making.

He emphasized that this involvement would help address local needs and commended the community for their valuable contributions over the two-day event.

Commissioner Ben Gboluma of Salayea Administrative District also expressed enthusiasm about the consultations, noting that the implementation of the identified issues would significantly benefit local residents.

Honorable Curtis V. Dorley, Deputy Minister for Research, Planning, and Policy at the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, praised the participants for their input, highlighting that their concerns align with the ministry’s core values.

He assured the citizens of the government’s commitment to implementing the listed issues to advance Liberia’s development.

Participants in the two-day consultations expressed their appreciation for the opportunity, describing the event as a significant step forward and a rare chance to influence local development.
