    Police in Nimba arrest a man age 40 for his allege link to wife murder

    The suspect has been arrested and placed in police custody awaiting investigation. Community dwellers picked him up on his farm while attempting to commit suicide and immediately turned him over to the Liberia National Police for investigation.

    Nimba County – The alleged murderer of 35-year-old woman who was killed in Gbarpa Town, Nimba County has been arrested and turnover to the Liberia National police authority in Sanniquellie.

    Emmanuel Gboe also known as Sokarte was arrested by citizens on his farm while attempting to commit suicide following the incident.The alleged suspect was apprehended and turnover to the Liberia National Police, Sanniquellie Detachment.

    Following citizens’ arrest and subsequent turnover to the police, the father of five is currently admitted at the George Way Harley Hospital in Sanniquellie for medical treatment due to several wounds he sustained while attempting to kill himself.

    Meanwhile, the alleged murderer is expected to face the full weight of the law after his treatment at G. W. Harley Hospital.

    In an interview with Darlington Saye, a son of the deceased narrated that they woke up at the hour of 6am on July 30, 2024 to the death news of their late mother.

    According to Darlington, one of his sisters age 10 had gone to their parent’s room that morning to collect her tooth brush only to realize that their mother did not respond to her call after she called her several times.

    The ten-year-old girl immediately ran out to the other room to call her brother Darlington’s attention to what had happened. When they both returned to their parent’s room, he saw their mother lying in a pull of blood while their father was nowhere to be found.

    Darlington Suah further narrated that his parents where in a minor confusion prior to the incident something that was never expected to escalate to that extend.

    A day before the incident, his wife had gone to a nearby tailor and asked him to sew clothes for she and her five children including her husband Emmanuel Gboe, the suspect.

    According to Darlington, Emmanuel Gboe confronted their mother upon receiving the information citing that he was not informed by his wife regarding her decision to sew clothes for the family something that result to heated argument between both parties.

    The suspect did not act on the scene until during late hour he used his single barrow gun to shot the victim’s below her arm while she was at sleep and killed her instantly.

    He escaped to his farm during the early morning hours of the incident. A vigorous search was launched by youths and the town leadership to determine his location. The suspect Emmanuel Gboe was later caught on his farm while attempting to commit suicide.

    Meanwhile, the remain of the decease has been laid to rest by family members while police establishes investigation into the matter.
