West Point, Monrovia – After battling breast cancer for six years, Bandu Woard is pleading for urgent medical assistance to ease her suffering.

Living in constant agony, Bandu recounts how her family has exhausted all efforts to secure the necessary treatment, yet she remains in pain. In an emotional appeal, she is calling on philanthropists, humanitarian organizations, and the government to help her get the medical care she desperately needs.

“I’m suffering. The pain is too much. I can’t even sleep at night,” Bandu lamented in an exclusive interview with journalist Mark Rogers.

Her ordeal began with a strange pain in her breast, prompting her to seek treatment at local clinics. Although prescribed medications temporarily relieved her discomfort, the pain always returned—stronger than before.

Realizing she needed more specialized care, Bandu’s family took her to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFK), where doctors recommended a full-body scan. She was referred to Catholic Hospital for further tests, but financial challenges prevented her from proceeding with the diagnosis.

“Yes, my little sister and her husband took me to JFK, where doctors did some tests. But they said I needed a final test—a full-body scan. They sent us to Catholic Hospital, but my sister’s husband ran out of money, so we could not go,” she explained.

Bandu was scheduled for the scan in December 2024, but her financial struggles delayed the process. Now, she fears enduring another year of pain without proper treatment.

She is appealing to citizens of Grand Cape Mount County, including those living abroad, to assist her in seeking urgent medical care.

Madam Bandu Woard hails from Madina Town, Madina Township, in Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County. Anyone willing to help can reach out to her at +231-777877719 / +231-888725447.
