Kakata, Margibi — A three-bedroom house in the Jambo Village Community was reduced to ashes early Thursday afternoon following a devastating fire that erupted around 1 PM. The blaze quickly consumed the property, leaving nothing but charred remains. All materials and belongings inside the house were destroyed.

At the time of the fire, the house’s owner, Madam Hannah Harris, was away at her business center. Her children had visited the property to retrieve keys for a change of clothes after their church practice. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported, as the occupants were not at home when the fire broke out.

Speaking to reporters, Madam Harris, a local businesswoman, expressed profound sadness over the loss of valuable possessions, including electronic devices, important documents, and business funds. She described the situation as devastating, highlighting the impact of the fire on her family’s housing situation.

In the aftermath, Madam Harris has appealed to humanitarian organizations, government officials, and the community for assistance. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the community has rallied in support of the affected family, expressing deep sympathy for their loss.

Local residents acted quickly to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes. The community remains on high alert and supportive of efforts to aid Madam Harris and her family during this challenging time.
